In this compelling memoir, Professor Jean Williams recounts her journey through seven Women's World Cups, beginning with Los Angeles in 1999.

Each chapter unveils the celebratory aspects of working in the football industry and academia while confronting the pervasive misogyny in both fields. From consulting on the Los Angeles Declaration on women's football, winning both FIFA and UEFA funding, to becoming the first female Professor of Sport History at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture, her career is marked by significant achievements and personal challenges.

The memoir also covers the impact of global events like the SARS pandemic and September 11, alongside the rise of social media and the fight for equal pay in women's football.

This is a story of resilience, triumph, and the enduring struggle for gender equality in sports and academia.
